What is Regenerative Injection Therapy?

My most rewarding moments in medical practice are times when I hear that a patient has achieved resolution of a health issue that had been negatively impacting their quality of life.

I find this especially rewarding when I’m able to stimulate a healing response by the patient’s body that is both restorative and long lasting. A recent case where the patient and I had huge success was treating her chronic interstitial cystitis (IC).  IC is a very painful bladder condition that can smolder for months, sometimes even years.  This particular patient had been struggling with bladder pain and difficulty urinating for more than 3 years.  She had suffered greatly and it was not only effecting her daily living but also her emotional state and her intimate relationships. After just one treatment with Ozone (O3) and an anti-inflammatory mix of natural medicines she reported 75% improvement. After completing 3 treatment sessions she had complete resolution of symptoms!  Needless to say this was an amazing case that responded perfectly and she is elated, now able to live her life without daily severe debilitating pain.

For this patient I chose to use the natural regenerative agent O3 in combination with procaine.  O3 provided the benefit of addressing any infectious microbes harbored within the bladder and it stimulates the immune system to produce local anti-inflammatory signals, antioxidants and improves cellular metabolism.

Procaine, a natural anesthetic, provided the nervous system with a reboot, enabling normal blood flow, oxygenation of the tissue, lymph drainage and relaxation of the tissue and vascular structures.

This synergistic approach gave her body the opportunity to achieve health once again.

In some cases like lichen sclerosis, sexual dysfunction, endometriosis, Peronei’s disease, COPD,  and other inflammatory conditions I may choose to use Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) to assist the body in its efforts to resolve the issue.

Just as O3 and Procaine stimulate healing and remove obstacles to cure, PRP contains a host of growth factors that direct the body to begin repair.

Platelets for PRP are extracted through a process whereby blood is drawn and spun in a centrifuge, separating the platelets from other blood components.

These platelets are collected and then injected into a problem region of the body, nebulized, or given in an IV. PRP has recently become more popular with doctors and patients due to its healing qualities and low side effect profile.  The growth factors contained in the platelets improve blood supply, nerve conduction, glandular function, and collagen formation when applied appropriately by a trained professional. In addition to inflammatory conditions, PRP has shown benefit in its use for orthopedic injury, aesthetics (PRP Facial), incontinence, and sexual organ dysfunctions like poor erection quality, premature ejaculation, inability to orgasm, vaginal atrophy and dryness.

The regenerative therapies give me the ability to provide effective options when other conventional or alternative therapies have failed.

While these therapies are exceptionally effective on their own, I always recommend that a whole system or whole body approach is taken.  This means that I consider nutritional status, hormonal balance, stress load, and genetic factors that may affect the body’s ability to respond to the injection or other therapy given. It is crucial that all body systems are able to collaborate and synergistically bring about complete healing.  It is more likely that a vital body will achieve a better response than a body that is depleted or out of balance.

Fortunately, for me I too benefited from receiving injections of Ozone, procaine, and PRP for sciatica and disc herniation.

Before I discovered these therapies, I suffered for approximately two years, unable to move freely or clear my thoughts of pain.  After 4 injection sessions I regained 100% of my freedom from pain and regained the ability to move without constant shooting and stabbing pain.  I was elated, to say the least!

I’m empathetic to anyone experiencing health issues that are limiting and painful; I can relate.

This is why I’m so excited to be offering regenerative treatment options that are natural and long lasting.

If you are experiencing any pain issue or loss of function and live in or close to Southern Oregon, give my office a call to see if one of these therapies may bring you the resolution you are looking for. You can set up an appointment by calling (541) 210-5687.
